COSMA Conversation: A Listening Session with AAM

Join us for a listening session with Marilyn Jackson who recently became the President and CEO of the American Alliance of Museums (AAM). Marilyn will share her vision for AAM and wants to hear from us about how AAM, COSMA, and state museum associations can collaborate as we all serve the museum field.

Marilyn Jackson is the President & CEO of the American Alliance of Museums, the 10th leader in the organization's history. With over 20 years in the nonprofit sector, she has held leadership positions at three major cultural institutions. Before joining AAM in April 2024, she served as President & CEO of the Muhammad Ali Center, Vice President of Marketing and Audience Strategy at the Chicago Architecture Center, and Director of Marketing at Chicago’s Museum of Science and Industry. Her 35-year career spans marketing and strategic planning across both nonprofit and corporate sectors. Marilyn has also held leadership roles at United Way of Metro Chicago, Six Flags Theme Parks, and Ameritech Corporation. She holds an MBA from Northwestern University and a BS from Cornell University.
